That Alex DeBrincat guy’s pretty good.
The Michigan hockey audience already knew that (at least most of them) but the rest of the hockey world’s learning all about the Farmington Hills native in a hurry now, too.
The Blackhawks rookie recorded his first NHL hat trick last night in Chicago’s 7-3 win over Anaheim. He’s the second youngest player in Blackhawks franchise history to net three goals in a contest, behind only Jeremy Roenick.

The Erie Otters alum – a Chicago second-round pick in 2016 – has 10 goals and 17 points on the season. That’s one goal off the league lead for freshman skaters and one behind Artem Anisimov for the team lead. DeBrincat is also second on the Blackhawks in total points behind only Patrick Kane.
