The Red Wings announced today that they have added another defenseman.

The Original Six franchise has signed Libor Sulak, a defenseman playing pro hockey in his native Czech Republic, to a two-year entry-level contract.

A 23-year-old blueliner, Sulak has spent the last two seasons with Orli Znojmo, a Czech team that competes in the top league in Austria. In 2016-17, he recorded 28 points and a team-best +19.

He played in two games with the Czech Republic national team at the IIHF World Championship.

Sulak was the Austrian league’s rookie of the year in 2016.
