The injury list keeps growing for the Red Wings.
Justin Abdelkader was injured in the first period of Detroit’s 2-1 overtime loss to the Florida Panthers last night, and now, he is expected to miss two to four weeks with an MCL strain (per tweets from MLive’s Ansar Khan and Freep’s Helene St. James).
The Wings’ assistant captain has four goals and four assists for eight points in 22 games with the Wings this season.
Last night, Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said the team may look to call someone up from Grand Rapids, but that the team may rely on Drew Miller to fill the void in the lineup.
#RedWings Abdelkader out 2-4 weeks with slight MCL sprain.
