The Grand Rapids Griffins announced two signings this morning, and one of them has plenty of experience in Michigan.

The AHL club has signed former Ferris State captain Kyle Bonis to a one-year contract. Bonis, 25, played for the ECHL’s Florida Everblades last season.

Grand Rapids also signed former Wisconsin standout Mark Zengerle, who scored the game-winning goal in the inaugural Big Ten championship game last year.

Bonis spent four seasons in Big Rapids, recording 77 points in 136 career CCHA games. Prior to joining the Bulldogs, he played for the Traverse City North Stars of the NAHL.
