The Detroit Red Wings announced today information for both their training camp and for their annual prospects tournament – events that all take place at Centre ICE Arena in Traverse City.
The Wings will start their training camp with their 16th Training Camp Golf Classic, presented by Eitel Dahm Motor Group, on Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.
Detroit will then begin their on-ice training camp on Friday, Sept. 19, and prepare for the 2014-15 season in Traverse City through Tuesday, Sept. 23. The Training Camp Alumni and Celebrity Game will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Red Wings will bring the NHL Prospects Tournament to Traverse City for the 16th season, and that will take place from Friday, Sept. 12 through Tuesday, Sept. 16. The eight teams participating are the Wings, Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues. Throughout the history of the tournament, 440 players have appeared in at least one NHL game after their NHL Prospects Tournament appearance, including six that skated with Detroit last year: Tomas Jurco, Alexey Marchenko, Xavier Ouellet, Teemu Pulkkinen, Riley Sheahan and Ryan Sproul.
Tickets for all September events go on sale at Centre ICE Arena on Monday, July 7 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Ticket prices for practice sessions are $10 for standing-room only, $15 for reserved seating and $20 for the mezzanine. Tickets for the Red and White Game and Training Camp Alumni and Celebrity Game will start at $20 for standing-room only, $25 for reserved seating and $30 for the mezzanine.
