The morning after the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Final, the Red Wings announced their first roster move of the offseason.
Detroit has signed winger Tomas Nosek to a two-year entry-level contract. Per Red Wings policy, terms of the deal will not be released.
Nosek, a 21-year-old forward from Pardubice, Czech Republic, has played the last three seasons with HC Pardubice of the Czech ExtraLiga. He led his team in scoring this year, recording 44 points (19 goals and 25 assists) in 52 games.
In 129 games with the top Czech league since 2011-12, Nosek has recorded 62 points, and he helped them to a league championship in his rookie season.
Nosek also served as the Czech captain at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship in Calgary and Edmonton, recording one assist in six games.
