While the majority of the Red Wings have the middle of February off, the prospects are still in the midst of their season. For Andreas Athanasiou, no break is necessary.

The Red Wings’ draftee was named the Ontario Hockey League’s player of the week today after the Barrie Colts forward racked up eight points in four games – the most of any OHL player.

Athanasiou, a fourth-round pick of the Wings in 2012, recorded six goals and two assists, along with a +4 rating, during the week ending on Feb. 16. A large portion of those points came in a seven-point performance last Thursday against the Niagara IceDogs.

Athanasiou currently is tied for fourth in the OHL scoring race with 80 points in 53 games.

Here are the highlights from his seven-point outing.
