The shuffling continues for the Red Wings as they prepare for their home opener with Buffalo tomorrow night.
Detroit announced Tuesday evening that they have recalled goaltender Petr Mrazek from Grand Rapids, just a day after sending him to their AHL affiliate.
The Wings also announced that they have assigned goaltender Jared Coreau and defenseman Xavier Ouellet to Grand Rapids.
Mrazek, who holds a 1-1-0 record with a 2.02 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in two NHL appearances, will serve as Jimmy Howard’s back-up for the season opener. Jonas Gustavsson is currently on injured reserve.
The Wings kick off their 2013-14 NHL regular season tomorrow night at Joe Louis Arena against Ryan Miller and the Buffalo Sabres. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on the NBC Sports Network and 97.1 The Ticket.
