USA Hockey announces 2019 U.S. Under-18 Men’s Select Team

Following the conclusion of the Boys Select 17 Player Development Camp, USA Hockey has announced its 2019 U.S. Under-18 Men’s Select Team.

The U18 Men’s Select Team will represent the Red, White and Blue at the upcoming Hlinka Gretzky Cup, which takes place Aug. 5-11 in Breclav, Czech Republic and Pietstany, Slovakia.

They will be led by a familiar face – Western Michigan alum and former Red Wings coach Pat Ferschweiler is the head coach of the team.

Michigan names selected for Team USA include:

  • Carson Bantle – Michigan Tech commit
  • Ryan Beck – Linden native
  • Mark Estapa – St. Clair native, Western Michigan commit
  • Alex Gaffney – Muskegon Lumberjacks
  • Avery Hayes – Westland native
  • Tanner Kelly – Clarkston native, Muskegon Lumberjacks draftee, Michigan State commit
  • Ryan Kirwan – Little Caesars alum
  • Mackie Samoskevich – Michigan commit
  • Ben Schoen – Little Caesars alum
  • Jack Williams – Muskegon Lumberjacks
