On Sunday, the Detroit Red Wings hosted their ‘Hockey is for Everyone’ game, celebrating and welcoming all hockey players and fans to Little Caesars Arena on Hockey Day in America, the first day of Hockey Week Across America. Prior to the contest, the Grosse Ile Islanders and Plymouth Stingrays played in a game to celebrate youth hockey (stay tuned for a photo gallery from that one), and then, during the opening ceremonies of the contest, the Wings were joined on the ice by:
Mason Steele of the Yellow Jackets sled hockey team
Erica McClain of the Michigan Women’s Senior League
Josh Krajewski of the Michigan Warriors (a team of military veterans)
Trevor Beck of the MORC Stars, a special hockey team
Reese Dale of the Trenton Hockey Association
