TROY – For the second straight season, the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies and Honeybaked 16U teams joined forces for a charity game for good causes.
This year’s edition – the Holiday Hockey Game For Hope charity game – raised $3,560 in donations for St. Jude, while they also took in more than $2,000 in toy donations for Toys For Tots.
Before the game, the HPHL rivals gathered in the Grizzlies’ locker room so the coaching staffs could talk to them about why events like the #HockeyForHope game are important:
Then they went out and played in front of a crowded Troy Sports Center crowd. Honeybaked ended up prevailing in the contest, and in true hockey fashion, it didn’t take long for the game to get ‘chippy.’
