Red Wings, Warrior surprise Ann Arbor Rockets disabled team with visit, new Warrior gear

The Red Wings welcomed the Ann Arbor Rockets disabled hockey team to the Belfor Training Center inside Little Caesars Arena on Thursday. The Rockets knew they were going down to Detroit to watch the Wings’ practice and skate on the Belfor ice, but what they didn’t know was that Warrior Hockey showed up with new sticks, gloves, bags and other goodies, and Red Wings Warrior pros like Dylan Larkin, Justin Abdelkader, Jimmy Howard, Gustav Nyquist and more were on hand to help them break in their new gear. Check out our photos from the event, as well as video interviews with Larkin, Abdelkader and Rockets co-coach and co-founder Jacqueline Kaufman.

The event was part of the Wings’ season-long efforts to celebrate and promote ‘Hockey is for Everyone’ as the NHL and its member clubs help grow and expand the sport.
