The Red Wings will be out and about this Friday, Dec. 8 as part of their annual participation in the Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s Red Kettle Campaign.

Four teams will be bell ringing from 4-6 p.m. across Metro Detroit to help raise funds for the Salvation Army’s STRIVE (Student Training for Integrity, Vitality and Education) youth floor hockey program. The program teaches the basics of hockey, as well as team-building skills and sportsmanship to children ages 8-12.

Fans are asked to make a $10 donation per autograph at all four locations.

Red Wings radio play-by-play broadcaster Ken Kal will team up with Kirk Maltby in Grosse Pointe Woods; Justin Abdelkader, Darren Helm, Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond will be at Hockeytown Authentics in Troy; Petr Mrazek and Tomas Tatar are set to bell ring at the Kroger in Royal Oak, while Kris Draper and Chris Osgood will be out at Kroger in Plymouth.

This year marks the 12th consecutive year the Wings and Salvation Army have partnered for the Red Wings for Red Kettles initiative. Last season, the program raised $23,084.
