Will Lockwood hasn’t had to travel much for his hockey career, but in a few years, he might have quite the move to handle.
The Bloomfield Hills native was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2016 NHL Draft today, claimed No. 64 overall early in the third round.
Lockwood, a University of Michigan commit, spent the last two seasons with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor/Plymouth. In 2015-16, he cracked up 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points in 60 games.
He was ranked No. 108 overall by NHL Central Scouting heading into the 2016 draft.
