The Flames may have just drafted their goaltender of the future, and he hails from Chesterfield, Mich.
Calgary used their No. 54 overall pick in the second round to select Tyler Parsons, making the Michigan native the second goaltender taken in the 2016 NHL Draft.
Parsons, rated the No. 3 goaltending prospect in North America before the draft by NHL Central Scouting, is fresh off a Memorial Cup victory with the London Knights.
The Little Caesars product posted a 2.33 GAA, .921 save percentage and 37-9-3 mark in the regular season, and he was even better in the postseason, recording a 2.15 GAA, .925 save percentage and 16-1-1 record.
