In MiHockey’s new ‘Losing an Edge’ feature, we share… some of the things that we end up doing online when we get distracted from actually working.
First up – some of the best things we’ve seen on eBay recently.
To start things off, we have perhaps one of the most amazing jerseys on eBay: a Washington Capitals Alex Ovechkin jersey, personally gifted by Ovechkin himself!
Besides the facts that the seller has zero feedback to rely on, he or she is only charging $95 and that the photo is a generic jersey render, it seems like an incredible, legitimate deal! But wait, there’s more! Let’s check out that description.
Alex Ovechkin gave this beautiful clean brand new jersey to U.S. before he moved to Washington D.C. This is honestly from him and selling for cheaper than original price. However, for a bonus, we will also give you a puck personally given to us by Alex Ovechkin himself.
We’ll let you decide for yourself.
Second is a signed 8″x10″ photo of Red Wings forward and Grand Rapids native Luke Glendening.
But wait, that photo looks awfully familiar. That’s because it was actually taken by MiHockey photographer Jen Hefner at the 2014 Winter Classic inside The Big House. This auctioneer is selling a cropped version without the MiHockey watermark. Adorable.
If you’re a Snoop Dogg fan, this one’s for you.
Allen Park-based Locker Room Sports is selling a Pittsburgh Penguins replica jersey like the famous hip-hop artist wore in his 1994 music video for the song “Gin and Juice.”
Next up is one of the more… unique jerseys we’ve ever come across online.
Yes, a customized Colorado Avalanche jersey with the number 38 and “FIGHT ME” where the name should go, both in a heavy metal, West Coast Choppers-esque font. The description reads “very rare and one of a kind.” While that’s probably true, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good thing.
Sticking with the NHL theme, here’s an abomination of a jersey featuring the Red Wings’ winged wheel on a Chicago Blackhawks-themed jersey. There’s a chance this could’ve been a youth hockey jersey, but the fact that it’s being passed off as a Red Wings jersey makes it a huge foul in our book.
Last, but certainly not least, is the January 18 edition of MiHockeyMag – featuring then Michigan defenseman Zach Werenski – autographed by Werenski himself.
We’re trying to decide if we should be flattered or if they should be charging more.
