Michigan State goaltender Jake Hildebrand continues to have an exceptional season for the Spartans, and once again, he has picked up a league honor.

The sophomore from Butler, Pa., was named Big Ten Hockey’s third star of the week today, after helping Michigan State to a tie/shootout win and a regulation win against Penn State over the weekend.

Hildebrand stopped 53 shots and recorded a .946 save percentage to help MSU take five out of six points on the road against PSU. He recorded 25 saves on Friday, and stopped all seven shootout attempts he faced.

On Saturday, he stopped 28 of 29 to lead MSU to a 2-1 win.

Hildebrand leads all Big Ten goalies with a .942 save percentage in conference play. This is his fourth Big Ten weekly award.
