CCHA Players of the Week – Jan. 28

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced their players of the week today, and Colton Hargrove is the lone Michigan connection to crack the list. The Western Michigan forward scored the game-winner for the Broncos   Friday night, then added two more goals on Saturday.

Postgame® Offensive Player of the Week
Colton Beck, UA
Jr., F (Langley, BC)
Beck scored the game-winning goal and was the Perani Cup second star in a 2-1 win over Northern Michigan on Friday. He scored the game winner, and was the Perani Cup first star, in a 4-2 victory on Saturday to complete the sweep of the Wildcats.

Gladiator® Defenseman of the Week
Matthew Caito, MIA
Fr. (Coto de Caza, CA)
Caito had two assists, including one on the game-winning goal, and was the Perani Cup third star in a 2-1 win over Bowling Green on Friday. He had an assist in a 3-1 victory on Saturday to compete the sweep of the Falcons. He also had six blocks and finished +2 on the weekend.

Warrior® Goaltender of the Week
Brady Hjelle, OSU
Sr. (International Falls, MN)
Hjelle stopped 34 shots and was the Perani Cup second star in a 3-2 win over Lake Superior on Friday and made 30 saves in a 6-1 victory on Saturday to complete a sweep of the Lakers.
Gongshow® Rookie of the Week
Colton Hargrove, WMU
F (Rockwall, TX)
Hargrove scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Michigan on Friday. He scored twice and was the Perani Cup first star in a 5-1 win on Saturday to complete a sweep of the Wolverines.
