As we reported yesterday, there were some changes in looks to some of our major teams in the state – the Muskegon Lumberjacks introduced their new logo, while Saginaw Spirit debuted new third jerseys.
The Wings missed out on the Rick Nash sweepstakes (though, it was a toss-up on whether they should participate in it in the first place), as the New York Rangers acquired the superstar for Artem Anisimov, Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon and a first-round pick in 2013. The Free Press reports that the Wings just weren’t willing to part with what the Jackets wanted in exchange for No. 61.

The Oilers have officially signed top pick Nail Yakupov to a three-year contract.

Labor talks between the league and the players association will resume this week.
