The CCHA announced today that Washington, Mich. native Austin Czarnik, a forward at Miami University, has been named the November Gongshow Rookie of the Month.

Czarnik posted three goals and seven assists in seven games with the RedHawks in November, and finished with an impressive +5 rating. His five goals, nine assists, and 14 points on the season ties him for the Miami team lead. Czarnik also leads all of the CCHA freshmen in assists and points. The 5-foot-8-inch, 152-pound forward is tied for second amongst all college rookies in scoring.

The Michigan native has performed well against top competition. Czarnik had a goal and an assist against then-ranked No. 4/5 Michigan on Nov. 12 (the RedHawks tied the Wolverines 3-3), and two assists in a win over Providence on Nov. 25.

In the Denver Cup Classic championship game on Nov. 26 against No. 9/10 Denver, Czarnik set up the game-tying goal, and scored an unassisted go-ahead goal in the first period. He was named to the Denver Cup Classic All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the event.
