Muskegon’s Brandon Bussi named USHL goaltender of the week

Looks like Muskegon has itself a goalie.

The USHL announced its second ‘stars of the week’ list for the 2018-19 campaign today, and Lumberjacks goaltender Brandon Bussi was named the top goaltender for the time period.

Bussi stopped 31 of the 32 shots sent his way by the Youngstown Phantoms on Friday, and he followed that up by stopping all 33 shots the next night.

Those two outings gave him a 0.48 goals-against average and .985 save percentage; certainly good enough for ‘USHL goaltender of the week’ honors.

On the season, Bussi – a native of Sound Beach, N.Y. – holds a perfect 4-0 record with a 1.72 goals-against average and .940 save percentage.

He is committed to St. Lawrence University.
