The RedHawks had a good weekend, and two Michigan natives played big roles in their success.
Gordie Green and Ryan Larkin have received some NCHC conference recognition after Miami swept Colgate with a combined score of 10-1.
Green, a Miami junior and Ann Arbor native, recorded six points on the weekend; he was named NCHC offensive player of the week today. He started the scoring in a 4-1 Friday night win (and added an assist) and then factored in on the RedHawks’ first four goals en route to a 6-1 thumping the next night.
Green finished the weekend with two goals, four assists, five shots on goal and a +4 rating.
Meanwhile, Larkin was named the goaltender of the week after allowing only one goal on 59 shots over the weekend. The junior netminder and Clarkston native stopped 28 shots – 12 while the RedHawks were shorthanded – on Friday, before stopping all 30 on Saturday.
