Five Michigan girls set to compete for U.S. in upcoming series with Canada

From Aug. 16-19, two Team USA squads will be battling their Canadian rivals, and four Michigan natives will be taking part in the competition.

Selected from the field of participants at the USA Hockey Women’s National Festival, the 2018 U.S. Under-18 and Under-22 Women’s Select Teams will each play a three-game series with their Team Canada counterparts at the Markin MacPhail Center in Calgary, Alberta.

Four Michigan natives appear on the Under-18 Team roster:

Brooke Bink – Escanaba – Shattuck St. Mary’s

Natalie Ferenc – Orchard Lake – Little Caesars 19U

Danielle Hartje – Detroit – Belle Tire 19U

Clara Van Wieren – Okemos – Honeybaked 19U

 

And one Michigan native has cracked the Under-22 Team roster:

Abby Roque – Sault Ste. Marie – University of Wisconsin
