Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech both went the distance in their WCHA semifinal series, and now, they get to renew their rivalry in a college hockey conference championship game.
Both the Wildcats and the Huskies won winner-take-all Game 3s in overtime Sunday evening, with Northern Michigan topping Bowling Green and Michigan Tech bouncing Minnesota State.
That sets up a WCHA title game next Saturday that will pit Northern Michigan against Michigan Tech in Marquette.
Puck will drop at 7:07 p.m. at the Berry Events Center in what will surely be a wild rivalry showdown.
Jake Jackson scored the game-winner for the Huskies at the 15:07 mark of overtime tonight in Mankato. Here’s how the Huskies eliminated No. 1-seeded Minnesota State:
