The Big Ten has announced its major individual awards for the 2017-18 season, and a Spartan has received some major recognition.
Mitch Lewandowski has been named the freshman of the year by the college hockey conference.
A native of Clarkston and a Honeybaked alum, Lewandowski recorded 19 goals and 15 assists for 34 points in 36 games with the Michigan State Spartans.
