The USHL announced its weekly awards today, and there’s a distinct Michigan flavor to the list.
Michigan natives Tristan Ashbrook and Travis Mitchell have claimed the two skater of the week awards, while University of Michigan commit Strauss Mann is the top goaltender for the seven-day period.
Ashbrook, a Manistique native and Lincoln Stars forward, thrived in his visit home this past weekend; he posted two goals and four assists for six points in two games against the NTDP in Plymouth.
Mitchell, a South Lyon native and Omaha Lancers defenseman, racked up three assists and an impressive +7 rating in his team’s weekend sweep of Central Illinois.
Mann, a Greenwich, Conn., native, stopped 26 of 27 shots against Muskegon on Friday before posting a 31-save win the next night.
