The Red Wings will be on their All-Star break this weekend, but it doesn’t mean that the hockey stops at Little Caesars Arena.
On Saturday, the first-ever Special Hockey Jamboree at LCA will take place on the Belfor Training Center ice.
The West Michigan Special Hockey Association, the Ann Arbor Rockets and the MORC Stars will all be taking part in a series of games that begins at 2 p.m. at the home of the Red Wings.
“We’re very excited to bring our players to Little Caesars Arena and the Belfor Training Center for what will surely be a memorable experience,” said MAHA disabled director Marie Sly. “Thanks to the Detroit Red Wings, MAHA and USA Hockey’s help, we’re going to be able to create a special day for these deserving, hard-working, wonderful hockey players. We all can’t wait for Jan. 27 – it’s going to be great for all parties involved.”
Each program is bringing at least two teams, and USA Hockey has some surprises in store for all the players, as well. All the games will be cross-ice hockey in a three-on-three format.
MiHockey will be there to capture the first special hockey event at the new home of Hockeytown.
