Sheldon Dries is on his way down to Texas.
The Macomb native and Western Michigan product has signed with the Texas Stars – the Dallas Stars’ AHL affiliate – for the 2017-18 season.
Dries, 23, just wrapped his NCAA career with the Broncos; he posted 30 points in 36 games to lead WMU to a NCAA Tournament appearance.
Over the course of four seasons, Dries recorded 84 points in 148 games.
He’s not the only Michigan name heading to Texas, however; the Stars also signed Michigan Tech defenseman Shane Hanna.
A native of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Hanna spent four seasons with the Huskies, logging 90 career points over 163 games.
In 2016-17, Hanna registered 27 points in 45 games, playing a crucial role in Tech’s NCAA Tournament berth.
