The Aston Rebels are leading the North American Hockey League’s East Division, and a big reason is the play of Carter Woolley.
The Bloomfield Hills native and Oakland Jr. Grizzlies alum helped the Rebels sweep the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights over the weekend to extend his team’s win streak to five games, as he potted a goal and an assist in the two victories. That also included the game-winning goal in Saturday’s 4-1 win.
In 11 games thus far, Woolley – the son of former Red Wings defenseman Jason Woolley – has notched four points.
“I cannot think of anyone more deserving or who has worked harder for what Carter has done,” Aston head coach Joe Coombs said in a press release. “He is on a great path of development right now and he is a phenomenal teammate who is getting better daily.”
The Rebels certainly hope that weekend serves as a springboard for Woolley’s offensive game the rest of the way out.
