“Let’s Play Hockey” announced the watch list for the Mike Richter Award today, which is annually presented by the Minnesota-based publication and the Herb Brooks Foundation to the goaltender deemed most outstanding in NCAA Division I men’s hockey.
The watch list features four players with Michigan ties, and one Michigan native – Cam Johnson, the goaltender between the pipes for the defending national champions in North Dakota.
Here are the four ‘tenders with Michigan ties featured on the watch list:
Gordon Defiel – Lake Superior State
Cam Johnson – North Dakota (Troy native)
Eric Schierhorn – Minnesota (Muskegon Lumberjacks alum)
Atte Tolvanen – Northern Michigan
