USA Hockey has announced the 29 players who have been invited to the USA Hockey Women’s National Team Off-Ice Training Camp from June 1-5 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., and two Michigan natives have made the cut.
Farmington native Megan Keller and Brighton native Shiann Darkangelo – both members of the U.S. squad that won gold at the 2016 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Kamloops, B.C. – have been invited to partake in the event, which focuses primarily on strength and conditioning, nutrition and mental skills.
The 2017 IIHF Women’s World Championship – the final major tournament before the 2018 Olympic Winter Games – will take place in Plymouth next April.
