The United States Hockey League has announced that its annual draft will be taking place close to home for Michigan players selected by the Tier I junior league.

the 2016 Phase I Draft – for 2000 birth-year players – will take place at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth on May 2. The event, which consists of 10 rounds of drafting for the USHL member clubs, will begin at 7 p.m.

The event is open to the public, and the USHL is encouraging youth teams and their families to come watch the draft live inside CJ’s Brewing Company at USAH Arena.

CCM Hockey, the official equipment provider of the USHL, will be on hand to give away prizes, and MiHockey will be in attendance for interviews with draftees, as well.
