It took more than 40 minutes of play for either team to score a goal, and it turns out that only one was needed to decide the outcome of the game.
Kenny Babinski’s goal at the 11:15 mark of the third period turned out to be the game-winner, lifting the Ferris State Bulldogs to a 1-0 victory over top-seed Michigan Tech in a WCHA Final Five semifinal match-up at Van Andel Arena Friady night.

With the win, Ferris State advances to Saturday’s WCHA title game for a showdown with Minnesota State. Puck drops at 6:07 p.m. ET tomorrow night.
Freshman Darren Smith was perfect between the pipes for Ferris State, stopping 30 shots to record the shutout victory.
