When the puck drops on the 2014-15 season, the Penn State Nittany Lions women’s hockey team will be led by a pair of Michigan natives.

The team announced today that juniors Jordin Pardoski (Rochester Hills) and Shannon Yoxheimer (Jackson) will be co-captains. Junior Sarah Wilkie (Ashby, Mass.) and sophomore Laura Bowman (Minnetonka, Minn.)  will be assistant captains for PSU.

“Jordin, Shannon, Sarah and Laura are builders,” Penn State coach Josh Brandwene said in a release. “They’re ‘all in’ for Penn State and this program, and they care so much for their teammates. I love the positivity that they and the whole team bring to the rink every day.”

Pardoski was the only underclassman to wear a letter last year. She has picked up six goals and 18 points in 71 games with the PSU program.

Meanwhile, Yoxheimer leads the Nittany Lions’ growing program in career goals (22), assists (25) and points (47).

The Nittany Lions begin practice on Saturday, Sept. 20, and open their season on Oct. 3 at Minnesota.
