USA Hockey has announced the roster they will take to the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup tournament later this summer, and there are five Michigan names on the list.

The roster for the U.S. Under-18 Select Team – made up of top players from across the country – features the following Michigan players:

  • Brent Gates – Grand Rapids, Mich. – Green Bay Gamblers (USHL)*
  • Ryan Moore – Troy, Mich. – Windsor Spitfires (OHL)
  • Dennis Yan – Ann Arbor, Mich. – U.S. National Under-17 Team (NTDP, USHL)
  • Douglas Blaisdell – Dearborn Heights, Mich. – Kitchener Rangers (OHL)
  • Grant Gabriele – Brighton, Mich. – U.S. National Under-17 Team (NTDP, USHL)

The players selected earned their spots during the USA Hockey Boys’ Select 17 Player Development Camp, held from June 30-July 2 at the Northtown Center at Amherst in Williamsville, N.Y.

The U.S. will compete in Group A with the Czech Republic, Finland and Russia. The tournament takes place from August 11-16 in Breclav, Czech Republic.
