USHL completes dispersal draft for Indiana Ice players

By Michael Caples –

After winning the Clark Cup, the Indiana Ice has been forced to disband.

The USHL championship team will go dormant for the 2014-15 season as they look for a new facility to play out of for future USHL seasons.

The USHL member clubs conducted a dispersal draft for the current players on the Ice protected roster, which features eight Michigan natives. Here’s a look at the USHL clubs they now belong to; it doesn’t necessarily mean that they will report, because some are moving on to the NCAA level for the start of next season.

Round 1

Des Moines Buccaneers – Jacob Pritchard (Macomb)

Chicago Steel – Zach Osburn (Plymouth)

Muskegon Lumberjacks – Ryan Mantha (Clarkston)

Round 2

Muskegon Lumberjacks – Nick Azar (Grosse Pointe Park)

Green Bay Gamblers – Josh Jacobs (Shelby Township)

Dubuque Fighting Saints – Matt Roy (Canton)

The Muskegon Lumberjacks also claimed Massachusetts native Jason Salvaggio in the third round.
