The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced today that Joseph Cecconi has committed to play for the University of Michigan following his junior career.
Cecconi, a Youngstown, N.Y. native, played in 28 games with the Lumberjacks this year after being acquired in a December trade with the Green Bay Gamblers.
“I decided to commit to the University of Michigan because I felt that it was the right fit for me, and the coaching staff made me feel right at home home when I took my official visit to Ann Arbor,” Cecconi said in a release from the team. “I loved the campus setting that Ann Arbor had to offer, and the overall atmosphere that surrounds Michigan is one of the best in the entire country.”
Before beginning his USHL career, Cecconi played for the Buffalo Junior Sabres Midget Minor squad.
He is the second Lumberjack on the 2013-14 roster to commit to the Wolverines, joining teammate Cooper Marody.
