The Senior CLASS Award finalists have been announced, and Scott Czarnowczan is still on the list.

The Ferris State captain, who is preparing to lead his Bulldogs into the 2014 NCAA Tournament, is one of 10 finalists for the award.

The winner will be announced during the Frozen Four weekend in Philadelphia.

Czarnowczan, a defenseman, holds a 3.444 cumulative grade-point average during his time at Ferris State. When he’s not leading the Bulldogs on and off the ice, he’s working towards a criminal justice degree.

The Macomb native is very active in the Big Rapids community, as well. Czarnowczan has been involved with middle school activity nights, school and local playground improvement projects, visiting and reading to elementary school students and more. This year, he helped FSU honor breast cancer survivors and raise money for the Susan P. Wheatlake Women’s Cancer and Wellness Fund during the Bulldogs’ first “Pink in the Rink” game.

He also leads the Bulldogs’ blue line in scoring, recording 25 points in 39 games.
