The National Collegiate Hockey Conference announced their preseason poll today, and Western Michigan landed at the No. 5 spot.
The Broncos received 61 points in the media-held vote. Former Central Collegiate Hockey Association member Miami University took the top spot, receiving 115 points.

The NCHC, comprised of Colorado College, Denver, Miami, Minnesota Duluth, Nebraska Omaha, North Dakota, St. Cloud State and Western Michigan, will kick off its first season on Oct. 18.
