The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced their players of the week today, with plenty of Michigan connections cracking the list. Wolverines sophomore forward Alex Guptill was named the league’s offensive player of the week, while Spartans goaltender Will Yanakeff took home the goaltender of the week nod. Miami forward Riley Barber, a Livonia native, was named freshman of the week.

Guptill scored twice, including the game winner, and was the Perani Cup second star in a 5-3 win at Ohio State on Friday. He scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 6-3 victory on Saturday to complete the sweep of the Buckeyes.

Caito scored a goal in a 5-4 win at Lake Superior on Friday and had the game-winning goal and an assist in a 2-1 victory on Saturday in a sweep of the Lakers. He also had a block, five shots on goal and finished +1 on the weekend.
Warrior® Goaltender of the Week
Will Yanakeff, MSU
Jr. (Jerome, MI)
Yanakeff stopped 37 shots, and was named the Perani Cup first star, in a 1-0 shutout win at Alaska on Friday. He stopped 39-of-42 shots, and was named the Perani Cup third star, in a 4-2 loss to the Nanooks on Saturday.

Barber scored a goal, and was named the Perani Cup third star, in a 5-4 win at Lake Superior on Friday. He scored a goal, added an assist and was named the Perani Cup first star in a 2-1 victory on Saturday to complete a sweep of the Lakers.
