Good day, all. Another week of pucks is winding down. Staffer Brian Kalisher here to add a little hockey to your Thursday.
Quick hits
The Red Wings were off last night after dropping a 2-1 decision to the Chicago Blackhawks Tuesday night. They are back in action tonight at home against the Vancouver Canucks and look to add a 24th straight home win to their record.
It’s quite possible new acquisition Kyle Quincey will find his way into the Wings’ lineup to make his second career debut with the team. Red Wings fans – and even us here at Michigan Hockey – are a bit curious to find out if GM Ken Holland will add another player before the trade deadline on Feb. 27.
Todd Bertuzzi will be around for another two years after he signed an extension with the Red Wings at a reported $4.15 million.
Highlight reel
Ken Holland called in to speak with E.J. Hradek and Deb Placey on NHL Live to discuss his thoughts on acquiring Quincey, Datsyuk’s injury, and other Red Wings news.
Outside the Mitten
Tim Thomas is at it again in Boston, securing big wins for his club. The Davison native was our Michi-gamer of the night once again after helping the Bruins post a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.
Trade rumors continue to heat up, as the deadline is now only four days away. Check out what TSN’s Scott Cullen thinks about the trade situation in the Western Conference.
