Shaved Ice – Nov. 9

If you’re Johan Franzen, you had a good night last night.

Quick hits

After dropping six straight, the Wings have now put together back-to-back wins – in a very convincing fashion. After posting a 5-0 shut out over Anaheim Saturday night, the Wings beat Colorado 5-2 last night. Johan Franzen had a hat trick to lead the way for Detroit. Read my recap (which just so happens to the be the 100th post on our new website) to see more.

Highlight reel

Here’s all the best parts of the Wings’ game last night.

Outside the Mitten

The team that the Red Wings face next has been one of the few things hotter than Detroit captain Nicklas Lidstrom (he scored again last night). The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Montreal Canadiens 3-1 last night – their seventh win in their last eight games. Edmonton is now 9-3-2 on the season, which is quite the turnaround from last year, when they finished 25-45-12 for last place in the entire NHL.
