The Grand Haven Buccaneers opened their season with a 3-2 win over Rockford on Nov. 25.

Tommy Zelenka had two goals and James Dykstrahouse had one goal for the Bucs, while Ian Hibbard added two assists and Doug Zelenka, Hayden Gerwig and Dykstrahouse all had 1 assist.

Grand Haven out-shot Rockford 24-15.

Zach Kooi was in net for the Bucs and stopped 13 of the 15 shots he faced.

Nathan Hill scored both of Rockford’s goals and Trevor Mills collected one assist.

Grand Haven takes on East Kentwood on Sunday, Nov. 26 in the finals of the East Kentwood Thanksgiving Tournament.  Game time is at 4:00 pm at East Kentwood Arena.
