Smith scored once in a 6-2 win over Providence on Friday, twice in a 4-2 win over Denver on Saturday and was named the Denver Cup Classic MVP.
Gladiator® Defenseman of the Week
Aaron Gens, UA
Sr. (Baudette, MN)
Gens had an assist in Alaska’s 3-0 win over Bowling Green on Friday, added two assists on Saturday in a 2-0 shutout of the Falcons, and blocked seven shots on the weekend.
Goaltender of the Week
Drew Palmisano, MSU
Sr. (Ann Arbor, MI)
Palmisano made 40 saves on Friday in a 4-3 win over Minnesota and another 35 saves on Saturday (.915 total save percentage) in a 4-4 tie with the Golden Gophers.
Gongshow Rookie of the Week
Austin Czarnik, MIA
F (Washington, MI)
Czarnik had two assists in a 6-2 win over Providence on Friday, added a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over Denver on Saturday and was named to the Denver Cup Classic all-tournament team.
