David Booth’s trying to come back to the NHL, and it would be with his hometown team if everything works out.
According to multiple reports – including The Athletic’s Craig Custance and the Detroit Free Press’ Helene St. James – the Wings will be welcoming Booth to training camp on a professional tryout basis.
Booth has spent the last two seasons playing in the KHL.
The 32-year-old forward last played in the NHL in 2014-15, appearing in 59 games with Toronto.
Originally a second-round pick of the Florida Panthers in 2004, he has 120 goals and 111 assists in 502 career NHL games.
