Svechnikov, 20, has recorded 18 goals and 44 points in 68 games in his first AHL season this year. Previously, the 6-foot-2 Russian potted back-to-back, 32-goal seasons in the QMJHL before joining the Griffins.
Svechnikov was the Red Wings first-round pick (19th overall) in 2015.
