With a 2-1 victory today in Pittsburgh, the Compuware 16U team has won a USA Hockey National Championship.
The Detroit Compuware boys defeated Shattuck St. Mary’s at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, thanks to first-period goals from Arthur Kaliyev and Thomas Middleton.
Chase Johnson was solid between the pipes for DC, stopping 18 of the 19 shots sent his way.

Kaliyev led the tournament with six goals and Chase McLane led the way in assists with six, as well.
Johnson’s three wins were the most of any goaltender; he posted a tournament-best .981 save percentage while leading Compuware to the title.
