Trouba, 22, will be starting his fourth season in Winnipeg when the ink dries. He was a restricted free agent, and he was requesting a trade out of Winnipeg instead of signing a new contract over the offseason.
The Rochester native is a product of Compuware, USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and the University of Michigan.
He was the No. 9 overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, and he played one season with the University of Michigan after the selection before heading to the Jets’ organization.
Trouba has 72 points in 211 NHL games.
