Has his time finally come?
The Red Wings announced today that they have recalled highly-touted prospect Anthony Mantha from their AHL affiliate in Grand Rapids.
Mantha, 21, was the Red Wings’ first-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He is in the midst of his second season with the Grand Rapids Griffins, and he currently ranks third on the team with 45 points in 56 games.
The Wings play in Philadelphia tomorrow night, and Mantha is expected to make his NHL debut against the Flyers.
Mantha was the QMJHL player of the year in 2013-14 after recording 120 points in 57 games.
