A big weekend against Penn State has led to weekly accolades for two of Michigan’s ‘CCM Line’ members.

Tyler Motte and Kyle Connor, part of Michigan’s top-scoring line with captain JT Compher, were named the Big Ten’s first and second stars of the week, respectively.

Motte recorded two goals and three assists in Michigan’s 7-4 win in Happy Valley. The Chicago Blackhawks prospect and St. Clair native followed that up with two more goals in the Wolverines’ 6-3 victory at Madison Square Garden in New York City as part of the Big Ten’s inaugural ‘Super Saturday’ event with basketball and hockey.

Meanwhile, Connor posted an identical two goals and three assists scoring line in the first of the two victories over Nittany Lions, then added an assist in the win at ‘The Garden.’

Connor, a Shelby Township native and Winnipeg Jets draft pick, leads the nation with 42 points in only 23 games – three less games than the next three players behind him in the national scoring race.

Motte, meanwhile, leads the NCAA in goals with 22 – the only player with more than Connor.
